Program Overview

In this program students will have an opportunity to examine the differences and similarities between the legal systems and laws in China and other countries. The program offers exposure to a wide varieties of legal topics including civil law, administrative law, judicial system, civil procedure law, political science and others. Your legal knowledge and research skills can be developed through discussion and interaction with distinguished professors and experts in these fields. This program is a perfect choice for applicants who are considering a law career or show an interest in Chinese laws and culture.

Admission Requirements

This program is open to foreign applicants who already have a bachelor’s degree. A law degree is not a must while relevant background is an advantage for application.

1. A scan of CUPL application form (written in English)

2. A color copy / scan of your valid passport

3. A color copy of an original degree certificate

4. Transcript of Records / list of grades (written in Chinese or English)

*Documents (including diploma and transcripts) in other languages must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

5. English proficiency test results (TOEFL: 90; Academic IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 overall and a minimum score of 5.5 on individual parts of the test)

*Applicants from English-speaking countries or holding a degree from an English-taught program can be exempted from this requirement.

6. Statement of purpose (motivation letter)

7. Resume / Curriculum vitae

8. Two recommendation letters (written in Chinese or English)

9. Physical examination results or report (This document is to be submitted at the latest upon enrollment)

10. A copy of valid HSK Certificate (if available)

It's highly recommended that the provided documents are in PDF format, especially the application form and letters. Please arrange them in sequence with number in the document name to make everything organized and clear.
