Dr. ZHANG Wei is a Professor of Human Rights Law. The majority of his publications relates to rule of law, human rights education, National Human Rights Institutions, business and human rights. Dr. Zhang is the Acting Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Human Rights (in English language). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the English Book Series on Good Governance and Human Rights, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Yearbook of Human Rights published by the Brill. Dr. Zhang was the founding Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Human Rights.
Dr. Zhang obtained his LL.B. and L.D. at CUPL in 1995 and 2008, and his LL.M. in International Human Rights Law at the University of Lund/the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) in Sweden in 2000. From 2007 to 2008, he served as a visiting scholar at the RWI. Dr. Zhang has been actively promoting human rights education and research in China since 1998. He participated in the editing of the first Chinese international human rights law teaching manual from 1998 to 2000. He started organizing the human rights law training programs for university professors with three Nordic human rights institutions. He also helped establishing the first graduate program on human rights law in mainland China in 2005, and organised China’s first Human Rights Law Summer Academy in 2009 at CUPL. For the past ten years, Dr. Zhang has been actively working in the field of business and human rights through supervising master and Ph. D. Dissertations, organizing BHR trainings and conferences with the Norwegian Center for Human Rights, translating BHR English articles and books into Chinese.
Dr. Zhang served as a visiting scholar and taught at the University of Strasbourg, University of Deusto, St. Thomas University in Canada and the the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation etc..

Academic Background:
Dr. ZENG Tao received his LL.B. in International Economic Law from Zhongnan Institute of Politics and Law in 1997, his LL.M. in Private International Law from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in 2000, and his Ph.D. in Private International Law from the School of Law at Wuhan University in 2003. Since 2004, he has conducted postdoctoral research in law at China University of Political Science and Law.
His doctoral dissertation, titled A Comparative Study of Model Laws (2000–2003), examines model laws as a method of legal harmonization, offering both theoretical insights and practical evaluations, with particular attention to their development prospects and potential application in China.
His postdoctoral research project, The Modernization of International Law in China (2004–), focuses on the intellectual history of international law in China. It aims to trace the academic development of international legal studies in the country and to promote further theoretical advancement in the field.

Vice Dean, WANG Fuping, School of International Education, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL)
WANG Fuping has many years of experience in higher education administration. His work primarily focuses on the management and support of international students as well as students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. He is also responsible for the coordination and administration of English-taught degree programs, student exchange programs, and Chinese language training programs.
