The School of International Education of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) offers Chinese language courses for international students. The Chinese language courses are designed to help international students to improve their Chinese language skills and to build a foundation in the Chinese language. The Chinese course is divided into two levels, elementary and intermediate level, and the teaching methods and learning content are to be adjusted according to the Chinese level of international students.
Program Introduction
1. The academic structure is divided into one semester and one academic year, and it is a full-time course;
2. 20 hours of teaching per week, no less than 18 weeks per semester;
3. International students will receive a completion certificate when they have completed all the courses with satisfactory results.

Curriculum
The courses are included Chinese listening, Chinese speaking, Chinese reading, Chinese comprehensive, a general introduction to China, Chinese cultural experience, HSK4-6 tutoring, etc.
Qualification
1. Foreigners aged between 18-55 with high school education or above;
2. In good health, good moral character, willing to respect and follow Chinese laws and regulations, abide by school rules and regulations, and no criminal record.
Application Documents
1. The completed "Application Form for Admission of China University of Political Science and Law"; (the application form can be downloaded from the website of the School of International Education http://sis.cupl.edu.cn/info/1023/1045.htm);
2. A photocopy of the first page of the passport (if the applicant is currently in Mainland China, a scanned copy of all relevant visa pages must be submitted at the same time);
3. A scanned copy of the highest academic diploma/certificate and transcript (All the documents must be in Chinese or English);
4. A scanned copy (Chinese/English version) of Foreigner Physical Examination Form and the relevant original report. It must stamp with the official seal of the hospital, and with the validity period of the physical examination being 6 months;
5. A recent certificate of no criminal record issued by the government or a certificate of no violation of discipline or regulations during school;
6. Personal statement and study plan(no less than 300 words);
7. One one-inch electronic photo.

Relevant fees (RMB as standard)
Application fee :400 yuan/person;
Applicants need to pay the application fee by bank transfer. The application fee is not refundable after being collected. Only RMB remittance is supported, foreign currency remittance is not accepted. If the original remittance is returned, the expenses is incurred by the return and would be borne by the applicant.

Note: The remark column on the remittance form must be written with "2024 application fee of the Chinese program for international students + English name of the applicant must match the passport exactly"
Tuition fee: 8,000 yuan/semester, 16,000 yuan /academic year ;
Accommodation fee: The accommodation fee is charged according to the accommodation conditions ;
Medical insurance: 800 yuan/academic year.
Admission Process
1. Applicants must submit application documents and pay the application fee;
2. The applicant's qualifications and all application materials submitted by the applicant are reviewed by the School of International Education according to the enrollment requirements;
3. After passing the review, the school will send the ‘Admission Notice’ and ‘Visa Application Form for Study in China’ (JW202 form). For details about registration at the school, please refer to the registration instructions.
