On February 28, 2025, the School of International Education successfully held the welcome ceremony for new students of the Spring Semester 2025 at the Haidian Campus. Vice Dean Wang Fuping attended the event and delivered a speech, while Deng Yicong, Director of the International Cooperation Department, hosted the ceremony.
A total of 24 international students participated in the event, including 21 exchange students and 3 language students. They come from nine countries: Italy, Germany, Norway, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia.
The orientation meeting began with a welcome speech by Vice Dean Wang Fuping, who extended a warm welcome to the new students from all over the world. He emphasized that China University of Political Science and Law, as the leading institution for legal education in China, has always adhered to its mission of "cultivating talents with international vision and global competitiveness." The School of International Education is committed to providing international students with high-quality educational resources and a diverse cultural exchange platform, aiming to offer them with broad opportunities for academic research and personal growth. We hope that the students will quickly adapt to life in China, excel academically, and actively contribute to CUPL's internationalization efforts

During the event, the staff of the School of International Education delivered detailed presentations on various topics, including the course selection process, academic regulations, application and management of government scholarships, dormitory management regulations, and fire safety. Their presentations offered the new students a comprehensive understanding of the relevant rules and requirements, enabling them to better plan their studies, extracurricular activities, and daily life.

Following this, two student representatives shared their experiences. IFTKHAR AHMAD, a Ph.D. student from the 2023 cohort of the English-taught Comparative Law program, and LADA BRAILOVSKAIA, an international exchange student, each delivered a sharing speech to help new students quickly and effectively adapt to their new academic and living environment. IFTKHAR AHMAD provided insights into the university’s teaching and activity facilities, emphasizing the modern teaching infrastructure, abundant learning resources, and convenient campus services. He also shared practical advice on how to maximize these resources to enhance academic studies and research. LADA BRAILOVSKAIA shared her experiences of studying and living in China, offering tips on using the city’s public transportation to explore Beijing’s culture and daily life.

In the subsequent Q&A session, the new students actively raised questions, and the staff and student representatives provided thorough and patient responses to various inquiries. This interactive session helped the students gain a clearer understanding of their upcoming academic and daily life.
The successful hosting of this orientation meeting has laid a solid foundation for the smooth academic and daily lives of international students in the Spring Semester of 2025. The School of International Education remains committed to providing comprehensive support and assistance, ensuring that students have a fulfilling and meaningful study experience at CUPL. At the same time, the school looks forward to their active contributions to the CUPL's ongoing internationalization efforts.
