On September 4, 2025, the School of International Education held a welcome session for new international students of the 2025 fall semester at the Haidian Campus. Attendees included Zhang Wei, Dean of the School of International Education, Wang Fuping, Vice Dean of the School, and responsible personnel from relevant offices. The session was hosted over by Wang Fuping.
Wang Fuping extended a warm welcome to the international students and provided a brief introduction to the faculty’s extensive international academic backgrounds and collaborative activities, students' foreign language proficiency, as well as the school's management model and functions.

Following this, Zhao Xiaomeng, International Student Counselor; Gao Chenhao from the International Cooperation Office; Li Jialu from the Center for Chinese Language Promotion; and Wang Yinuo, Deputy Director of the International Student Office, delivered detailed presentations and explanations on various matters. These included daily management and student activities, course selection procedures, academic regulations, dormitory management policies, fire safety, applications for government scholarships, and degree programs. These introductions aimed to provide new students with a comprehensive understanding of essential academic and daily life requirements and considerations from the very beginning, laying a foundation for them to quickly adapt to campus life and make well-prepared academic and living arrangements.
Subsequently, Mai Hong Nhung, a master’s student from the class of 2023, shared her experiences of on-campus accommodation and campus academic life. She encouraged new students to make full use of the various resources and services available on campus to support their professional studies and enrich their extracurricular activities, thereby enhancing their overall study-abroad experience. Shi Jiahao, a graduate student from the class of 2023, introduced the organizational structure of the student union and past language and cultural exchange activities and visits. He encouraged new students to actively participate in these activities to broaden their horizons and improve their skills. During the interactive session, new students raised questions enthusiastically, and faculty and student representatives provided responses and explanations one by one.
Finally, Zhang Wei delivered a concluding speech. He emphasized that the university and the school not only provide classrooms for students to acquire professional knowledge but also offer numerous platforms to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning among civilizations. Here, students can expand the depth and breadth of their academic research while also gaining understanding and friendship. He expressed hopes that everyone would quickly integrate into the new living environment, dare to explore and innovate, achieve fruitful results in their academic and life journeys, and make contributions to the university’s international development.

This semester, 53 new international students have registered on the Haidian Campus, hailing from 22 countries including Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, the United States and so on. The School of International Education will continue to enhance its management and services, actively building more platforms for exchange between Chinese and international students to support their academic progress and personal growth, thereby further advancing the university’s internationalization.
